Exploitation remains for Indian workers

Indian workers have been playing a vital role in Kuwait’s labour force,contributing significantly in country’s construction,domestic work and service sectors but widespread reports of exploitation,abusement and substandard living condition have surfaced,raising urgent question about migrant worker’s protection and bilateral labour agreements.Lets discussed about  an incident of Aman Bhola an Indian national who is working in Kuwait.It was 9th March when our team received a mail from a person called  Aman Bhola,an indian national who is working in Kuwait since April 2023 with Messilah-UES under a ministry project.as per the person said that when he arrived his emplyer confiscated his passport,deducted Visa cost from his salary without prior agreement,deducted overtimme payment , his working hours is also high .It was 16 hours instead of 12 hours,Even employer had not provided a contract or salary slip. Employer was not providing any food allowence and Insurance. At last they terminate Aman’s employment in March 2024 withou an end of service letter.

Aman filed a case with the public authority of Manpower,but after nearly a year his case hasbeen seen no progress in court. he was struggling to prove unlawful salary deduction due to the lack of official salary slip.Meanwhile company continues its operation and he reamin unemployed without support

As per the Kuwait’sdomestic workers law the maximum hours of working for domestic worker is 12 as per the article 22(2).
